Take it from me - Randa is an all-around badass. She's one of those Renaissance women who is great at everything and has a penchant for making everything beautiful along the way. You may recognize her from her popular blog, The Unprecedented, or print shop, I See Noise.
Read on below to hear why she changes her outfit multiple times per day and how she got her start hustling McDonald's kids meal toys.
Who are your mentors? Who do you look up to?
My family and friends are my largest support system and are also fellow entrepreneurs who are always working on new projects. Seeing them continue in their paths and doing what they love is very inspiring to watch.
What makes you happy no matter what? Like if you’re having one of those no good rotten days where everything is terrible, what’s the thing that pulls you off the ledge?
Food from my favorite restaurant and my cat. If my boyfriend gets me food from my favorite restaurant and hangs out with me and my cat, well that's just splendid.
Where do you shop for closet staples?
What’s your formula for a killer outfit?
Whatever I wear I need to feel like myself. My mood changes multiple times a day so I am known to change my outfit 2-3 times in a day.
What’s something you struggle with in your career?
Comparing myself to others. It's a constant battle with yourself that we all go through.
Tell us about a time when you hit a breaking point, a fork in the road? Have you ever wanted to quit and run away to Bali?
I went on an indefinite hiatus from my blog after deciding it wasn't what I wanted for my life anymore. I craved being a part of a team and working for someone else so I did that. I haven't regretted a single moment!
What is something you’d say you are always fighting against? What’s the thing you have to pep-talk yourself about?
Taking the first step is always the hardest and by far the most terrifying. Letting myself know it will all work out in one way or another is my constant pep talk.
What is the skill you picked up as a kid/teen that you still rely on today (i.e. teaching yourself html/powerpoint/etc., getting what you want from mom and dad, making a great sandwich)?
Knowing that someone is always going to want what you have and you can make a business out of it. I would sell my McDonalds toys to the kids on the block for a $1 a pop.
What are you most proud of thus far in your life? Can be career or non-career related.
I am most proud of the company I keep close to me.
What is the one thing you throw on when you head out the door that gives you that warm glow from deep in the tummy that says, “I know I look good”?
Putting on a little lipstick and my favorite perfume.
